Yet More Cheryl Cole: Vogue UK October 2010
The fashion police predictably demolished this cover and editorial. However, it remains one of my favourite Vogue UK covers of all time and which self-respecting red-blooded male (albeit with a fashion magazine fetish) could seriously turn up his nose at CC?

Victoria Beckham for Vogue UK February 2011
It's amazing to think that, what with all the negativity and derision that she attracts, Victoria Beckham must be on some level a reasonably popular celebrity. I remain ambivalent. This month's cover, redolent of Vogue UK from the early 80s (is there a Dianaesque flavour here?), is clearly meant to soften the harder edges of her aesthetic and reputation but I'm not sure how much it succeeds. 
As I said though I remain ambivalent. The Vogue UK April 2008 cover with VB remains one of my favourite magazine covers of all time. There is barely any personal identity here though. She is more bauble, statue, than human.
